Scottish Open 2014

ScottishOpen

Kate Daykin and SJ Hampson dominated the Scottish Open this year.  The final tableau of 8 included fencers from the USA, Holland, France and England.  But it was an all Salle Ossian final, the gold going to Kate and SJ taking silver.  All the action was captured by live tv streaming and you can watch Kate and SJ in action from 1 hour 3 minutes on the following link.

Kate, Salle Ossian and Scotland are no. 1

After weeks of preparation and hard work, Kate Daykin has made her dream come true of qualifying for the GB Junior squad. Kate had a great days fencing in Udine, Italy at the weekend and carved her way through to finish 25th out of 114 fencers in a world class field. In her final match, Kate narrowly lost 12-15 to the top Russian and eventual silver medallist. Kate is now ranked no.1 in the GB under 20 rankings and is looking forward to confirmation of her place at the European Junior Championships to be held in Jerusalem in March.
