GB Selection for Salle Ossian Fencers

Huge congratulations to Kate Daykin and Jess Corby.  Following on from successes in the UK and at international qualifying events in Germany, France and Spain, they have both been selected on to the GB team going to the European Junior and Cadet Championships in Slovenia in February.  Following on from their domination of both youth and senior events in Scotland and GB and not forgetting their Team Gold at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships, this has been a terrific season for them.  Kate, 18, is studying at Heriot Watt University and Jess, 16, is still at school and currently working through her prelim exams.  They have both worked hard to balance their studies and their training and we wish them every success in both.

Coach Prof. Phil Carson says “This is a great achievement for Kate and Jess and indeed for such a small club working in the north of the UK, but shows what can be done with hard work and dedication”.
