britishchamps Bath 45-22. They progressed through to the direct elimination stage as no.1 seeds to meet the favourites, Truro in the final.  This turned out to be a nail-biting affair, but the Scots prevailed to take the title 45-42.  Coach Carson says, “This is a terrific result and the first time a women’s sabre team from a Scottish Club has won these championships.  I’m extremely proud of this young team’s achievement,”  This result coincides with the launch of Salle Ossian’s new schools programme “Hit Like a Girl”.  Working together with Perth and Kinross Schools and Live Active, young boys and girls will be taught the Olympic sport of fencing by women mentor-athletes who are Scottish, British and Commonwealth Champions.  These classes will be held at after-schools clubs across Perthshire, but will start at Perth High, Perth Grammar, Kinross High and Breadalbane Academy, Aberfeldy.
